THE NATURAL SKINCARE WORKSHOP

Natural Skincare Products Made by YOU!

Why Attend?
COSMETIC LIES?
What are the cosmetic companies not telling you?

If you take a look at the ingredients in most soaps, lotions, and hair products on the market today, you'll find they're loaded with unhealthy chemicals.
Parabens... PABA... PEG... propylene glycol... SLS......
Most of us don't have the time to find out what these terms mean let alone research what they ACTUALLY contain. Guess what? The

cosmetic companies

are banking on this! If nobody is looking out for you - you have to look out for yourself. Here’s a crash course on cosmetic terminology:

Siloxane

Siloxane. is used extensively in moisturisers and facial treatments. They can also be found in medical implants, water-repelling windshield coatings, building sealants and lubricants YUCK!
Also, the European Union classifies it as an endocrine disruptor, based on evidence that it interferes with human hormone function and a possible reproductive toxicant that may impair human fertility. In laboratory experiments, exposure to high doses of it has been shown to cause uterine tumours and harm to the reproductive and immune systems. It can also influence neurotransmitters in the nervous system

PEGs

(polyethylene glycols) are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and moisture-carriers. PEGs are commonly used as cosmetic cream bases. They are also used in pharmaceuticals as laxatives. While carcinogenic contaminants are the primary concern, PEG compounds themselves show some evidence of genotoxicity and if used on broken skin can cause irritation and systemic toxicity. Some PEG compounds are not safe for use on damaged skin. Also, PEG functions as a "penetration enhancer," increasing the permeability of the skin to allow greater absorption of the product — including

harmful ingredients!

Parfum

The term "fragrance" or "parfum" on a cosmetic ingredients list usually represents a complex mixture of dozens of chemicals. Some 3,000 chemicals are used as fragrances. Fragrance is used in nearly every type of personal care product. Even products marketed as "fragrance-free" or "unscented" may in fact contain fragrance along with a masking agent that prevents the brain from perceiving odour. U.K. researchers have reported that "perfume" is the second most common cause of allergy in patients at dermatology clinics. In addition, in laboratory experiments, individual fragrance ingredients have been associated with cancer and neurotoxicity among other adverse health effects. ( Source: David Suzuki Foundation)

These are just 3 of the common ingredients found in toiletries. The list goes on and on..... The only way to be sure about anything you are slapping on to your skin is to make it yourself. On our one day workshop you will learn how to make natural skincare products, in your kitchen, with a handful of everyday ingredients, in a matter of minutes. The products you will make are as good as, if not better than anything that is sold on the High Street, including products from shops like Lush, Bodyshop, Boots, Neal's Yard etc. The best thing about it is you know exactly what has gone into it.

Why do this workshop? Because you’re worth it!
Enjoy!
